WELCOME ABOARD!
We invite you to join us in experiencing the centuries old traditions and skills of sailing. We believe that sailing is more than just a sport, it is a way of life that creates adventures that are best shared with others!

HISTORY
The sailing vessel Artistry was commissioned in Alachua Florida in 1983 and then delivered to Rockport Texas. She was launched and named Curlew II and sailed as a Coast Guard documented vessel mostly on Aransas Bay. Legend and rumors say that she made one passage to the Caribbean before being put up for sale in 1993. She was surveyed in above average condition and was purchased by us and delivered to Lake Ray Hubbard. She was launched and re-named Artistry and berthed at Bay View Marina where she is under continual renovation while being sailed as often as possible! The name Artistry was chosen because of Charles’s career as an artist, Lynn’s skills as a musical artist and our belief that sailing itself is an art.

ABOUT SAFETY
Artistry was built to ABYC and NFPA standards and is equipped with the safety features that meet or exceed both state and federal U.S. Coast Guard regulations. In addition, Artistry is inspected each year by the Coast Guard and is maintained and cared for to the best of our ability. This vessel will always sail with proper USCG approved life vests for each person, as well as fire extinguishers, first aid kit, flares, VHF radio, and a cellular phone.

Charles has had over 25 years of experience sailing and Lynn is a competent first mate and is trained in CPR. Also, both Charles and Lynn have passed the Texas Boater Education course. In case of inclement weather or high winds, the decision to sail is at the captain’s discretion, aboard Artistry, we take safety seriously.
